How To Prolong Your Zune Battery Life
Enjoying the Zune player too much can often times lead us to neglect the battery. With the wireless feature on, the Zune battery life lasts from 13 hours music marathon for 128 kbps windows media audio (wma) files and about four hours with video playback.
Turning the wireless off, you can enjoy the Zune player for about 14 hours until the Zune battery is flat. But what you may not know is that there are ways on how to prolong your Zune battery life, and here´s how.
Turn it off with this unpublished technique: instead of holding down the play/pause button, try pressing and holding the button on the D-pad with the back button.
The reason why the first method consumes battery a lot is because it just puts the Zune battery in a hibernate mode, just like in computers, and uses the battery life to resume where you were previously once you power it on again.
So if it is not at all important to get back where you left off or if you won´t use the Zune player until after several hours, use this technique instead.
Of course keeping your Zune´s firmware updated can improve its features, including the battery life. Better convert your mp3 or other music formats to wma since this uses up the battery less, and use the Shuffle/Play All button when you´re just randomly listening to songs.
Have the wireless feature off when not in use as well as adjust the brightness settings to low when you are in a well-lighted place.
In doing these techniques, you can definitely maximize your Zune battery´s life.
